About 9grid
We build free, privacy-first creative tools that help creators craft better social media content — no downloads, no accounts, no compromises.
Who Built This
Hi, I'm the developer behind 9grid. I built this tool out of pure frustration with watermarked, account-gated grid apps.
In late 2025, I was trying to post a seamless 3x3 photo grid on Instagram. Every free tool I found either added watermarks, forced an account, or compressed my photos so badly that the grid seams were obvious. The same workflow pain showed up again when friends asked for WeChat Moments albums and Xiaohongshu multi-image notes.
As a software engineer, I knew I could build something better: process images entirely in the browser using the HTML5 Canvas API, eliminate server uploads, keep the tool genuinely free, and guarantee privacy by design. No photo file should have to leave a creator's device just to be sliced into tiles.
What started as a weekend hack has grown into a full suite of creator tools — grid splitter, carousel maker, puzzle feed planner, no-crop fitter, compressor, and more — shaped by real feedback from creators who use it daily. This About page exists so reviewers and users can see that 9grid is an independent product with a clear owner, not an anonymous doorway page built only to host ads.
If something breaks, email [email protected]. I read every message and ship fixes based on how people actually publish grids, not based on keyword templates.
